Shipping in RevCent is created when a customer purchases a shippable product. A subscription renewal with a shippable product will also create a shipping item. Shipments are automatically tracked by RevCent for USPS, UPS and FedEx.

View all shipping by clicking Revenue > Shipping > All Shipping in the sidebar or go to https://revcent.com/user/shipping

Shipping Details

View shipping details by searching for the shipping in the top navigation search box, or clicking on the shipping ID when viewing all shipping.

The shipping details page will display all related entities of the shipping, i.e. sale, product sold, renewals, tax, etc.

Edit Shipping

Edit a shipping by clicking the Edit button when viewing the shipping details page. You can modify all aspects of the shipping entry, including adding a tracking number as well as marking the item as shipped.

Shipping Profile

A shipping profile in RevCent is a collection of shipping rates along with providers and rules for properly assigning a shipping to a customers’ purchase, trial expiration and/or subscription renewal. When a customer makes an initial sale, a subscription renews or a trial expires with shippable products, the rates within a shipping profile are compared to the purchase and any matching rates produce the final shipping price, shipping provider and shipping method.

Note: RevCent will not utilize shipping profiles for the calculating shipping on an initial sale coming from WooCommerce, and will instead accept what WooCommerce calculated for shipping at time of purchase. This only applies to the initial sale, i.e. when a customer checks out on your WooCommerce store, and not future trial expirations or subscription renewals.

Important: Shipping profiles are essential for trial and subscription based shippable products regardless of the initial sale origin. RevCent must successfully find at least one applicable rate within your shipping profile(s) in order to create a shipping entry for trial expirations and subscription renewals. If RevCent doesn’t find at least one applicable rate, it will not create a shipping entry and the product will not ship to the customer.

Shipping Profile Details

Name

Enter a name for the shipping profile. Required.

Description

Enter a description for the shipping profile.

Status

Set the status of the shipping profile.

Shipping Profile Rates

A shipping profile can contain one or more shipping rates. The profile shipping rates are what are used to determine the amount to charge a customer for shipping. Add a rate by clicking the Add Rate button. Each rate contains rules you set in order for RevCent to identify the specific rate and amount to charge.

Important: In order for a shipping entry to be created, at least one rate within any applicable shipping profiles must match the purchase based on the rules within the rate(s). If no matching rates are found, RevCent will not create a shipping entry for the purchase.

Individual Rate

Each rate is its own separate entity. The rate contains the provider, provider method, your cost and the amount to charge the customer. A matching rate will successfully create a shipping entry and charge the customer the customer rate you specify. If there are multiple matching rates, RevCent will use the most profitable rate (customer_rate - cost).

Important: All rules within a rate must pass in order for the rate to be considered valid for the specific purchase. You do not have to create a rule for each rule subset (product, product group, revenue), however you must create at least one rule throughout the entire rate.

Example 1: You can create a rate with only a revenue rule, stating that if purchase amount is greater than X, then charge customer the specified customer rate.

Example 2: You can create a rate with only a product rule, stating that if purchase contains a quantity of more than X quantity of a specific product then charge customer the specified customer rate.

*Example 3:*You can create a rate with both a product rule and a revenue rule that if purchase contains at least X quantity a specific product and the purchase amount is greater than Y, then charge customer the specified customer rate.

Provider

In order for RevCent to charge the customer the appropriate amount as well as track a shipping entry, you must tell us the provider, provider method and amount to charge.

Shipping Provider

The rates’ shipping provider, i.e. USPS. Required.

Shipping Provider Method

The rates’ shipping provider method, based on the provider selected, i.e. Priority Mail. Required.

Your Cost

Your estimated cost for the shipping, i.e. packing.

Customer Rate

The amount to charge the customer. Required.

Product Rules

Qualify the rate based on product quantity rules. I.e. If purchase contains a specified quantity of product then use rate. If using multiple product rules, all product rules must pass in order for the rate to be used.

Product

A product that must be in the purchase for the rate to qualify.

Quantity Rule

The product quantity rule.

Quantity Value

The product quantity value.

Product Group Rules

Qualify the rate based on product group rules. I.e. If purchase contains a product that is associated with the select product group, then use rate. If using multiple product group rules, all product group rules must pass in order for the rate to be used.

Product Group

A product group, containing a product that must be in the purchase for the rate to qualify.

Revenue Rules

Qualify the rate based on revenue rules. I.e. If purchase transaction amount is greater than $100 then use rate. If using multiple revenue rules, all revenue rules must pass in order for the rate to be used.

Country Restrictions

You can add specific country(s) that the rate will be restricted to based on the shipping address destination country. Only country(s) added will be allowed to use the rate. The rate will also take precedence over any other rate in its shipping profile where country restrictions are not present or do not match.

Shipping Methods

RevCent contains shipping methods for several providers based on the 3PL Central carrier list. If you do not see a provider or provider method, please contact us to add it to our system.

Provider Method Table

Below is the provider method table. When sending a sale > create API call to RevCent you can specify the Provider ID as the “provider” property and Method ID/3PL Code as the “provider_method” property for shipment entries. If you have created a fulfillment account in RevCent with 3PL Central as the fulfillment center, we recommend using the 3PL code for specifying the provider method.

Shipping Tracking

Once an individual shipment has been updated as “Shipped” with a tracking number in RevCent, the shipment can be updated as “Delivered” via a supported third party tracking service. You must have an account with a supported third party tracking service and create a third party integration in RevCent to link the third party with RevCent so shipment delivery can be updated in RevCent.

Note: If you do not need nor want to have shipment delivery updates within RevCent, then you can ignore this section.

Important: This does not affect notifying fulfillment accounts or RevCent being notified about orders shipped, this solely pertains to shipments being updated in RevCent when they are delivered.

Why Third Party Shipment Tracking?

With the increasing number of worldwide carriers, as well as carriers such as USPS now requiring specific account credentials to track their shipments, it has become necessary for RevCent to offload shipment delivery tracking to a third party service. This expands the available carriers, including international carriers, whose shipments can be tracked. Prior to offloading tracking to a third party, RevCent was limited to just a few carriers

When you sign up with a supported third party and add your credentials to RevCent via third party integration, RevCent will automatically receive delivery notifications from the third party. You are only required to add your specific carrier accounts within the third party service which you use to ship orders.

How Shipment Tracking Works

1. You create an account with a supported third party service, adding your carrier accounts to the service as well.
2. You generate a third party service API key and add the API key to RevCent via third party integration.
3. RevCent notifies the tracking service of a shipment to track including its tracking number.
4. When the shipment is delivered, the third party service notifies RevCent of delivery.

Supported Third Parties

There are currently two supported third party services, both of which charge per tracking number (view pricing pages).

Note: You do not need to purchase labels from either service in order to track a shipment and have it updated in RevCent. You can track labels purchased outside of their service, and bring your own carrier account (BYOCA) for tracking. This ability to track outside labels is why RevCent chose these two third parties.

Which one does RevCent recommend?

EasyPost seems to be the “easiest” to sign up, add payment and bring your own carrier accounts for tracking. Shippo supports more carriers but may require you to speak with sales.

EasyPost Instructions

First make sure EasyPost supports the carriers you need to track shipments for by checking the EasyPost Carrier List. This assumes you have created an EasyPost account with payment method.

Note: You do not need to create a webhook in EasyPost. RevCent will automatically create the webhook after adding EasyPost to RevCent.

In EasyPost

1. Login to EasyPost
2. Add a payment method in EasyPost.
3. Add all of your existing carrier accounts by going to Account Settings > Carriers > Add Carrier. You do no need to create a carrier account with EasyPost if you already have one. I.e., if you have an existing USPS account that you purchase labels with, add it to EasyPost using Add Carrier, with the credentials EasyPost asks for.
4. Go to Account Settings > API Keys.
5. Click Add Additional API Key > choose Production .
6. Copy the EasyPost API Key in order to add it to RevCent.

In RevCent

1. Login to RevCent
2. Create a new Third Party Integration by visiting https://revcent.com/user/third-party-integrations and clicking Create New Third Party Integration.
3. Name the integration EasyPost (or whatever you want to name it) and click the Create New button. You will be forwarded to a new page.
4. On the new page, select EasyPost as the third party and add your EasyPost Production API Key.
5. Make sure to first Test and then Save credentials.
6. Choose Create New for the webhook option. RevCent will automatically create a webhook specific to your EasyPost integration, as well as create the necessary settings in your EasyPost account.
7. Click Save Integration.

That’s it. As long as you added your carrier accounts to EasyPost and successfully created the third party integration in RevCent, your shipments will be automatically updated in RevCent when delivered.

Shippo Instructions

First make sure Shippo supports the carriers you need to track shipments for by checking the Shippo Carrier List. This assumes you have created a Shippo account with payment method. You may have to speak to their sales team in order to get a Live API Key.

Note: You do not need to create a webhook in Shippo. RevCent will automatically create the webhook after adding Shippo to RevCent.

In Shippo

1. Login to Shippo
2. Add all of your existing carrier accounts by going to Carrier Accounts > Your Accounts > Add Carrier. You do no need to create a carrier account with Shippo if you already have one. I.e., if you have an existing USPS account that you purchase labels with, add it to Shippo using Add Carrier, with the credentials Shippo asks for.
3. Go to API Configuration > Developer Keys.
4. Click Request Live Key.
5. Once you get a Live key, copy it in order to add it to RevCent.

In RevCent

1. Login to RevCent
2. Create a new Third Party Integration by visiting https://revcent.com/user/third-party-integrations and clicking Create New Third Party Integration.
3. Name the integration Shippo (or whatever you want to name it) and click the Create New button. You will be forwarded to a new page.
4. On the new page, select Shippo as the third party and add your Shippo Live API Key.
5. Make sure to first Test and then Save credentials.
6. Choose Create New for the webhook option. RevCent will automatically create a webhook specific to your Shippo integration, as well as create the necessary settings in your Shippo account.
7. Click Save Integration.

That’s it. As long as you added your carrier accounts to Shippo and successfully created the third party integration in RevCent, your shipments will be automatically updated in RevCent when delivered.
