A fraud detection in RevCent can be created automatically, manually or via the API. A fraud detection is specific to a sale within RevCent. Automatic fraud detection, using a third party, gives you the ability to detect fraud before processing payments.

There are two ways to create a fraud detection, either during the sale creation and payment processing, or manually after a sale has been created.
Revcent offers automatic fraud detection using a Fraud Detection Profile or third party integration. Depending on the method, RevCent will attach a fraud alert or will create a fraud detection entity within RevCent and attach it to the new sale.
To create a fraud detection you must view the source details for the specific entity that the fraud detection is related. For example, view the sale and click the Fraud Detection button. When creating a fraud detection on a sale, you can also automatically void the sale, refunding any payments and cancelling any trials/subscriptions.
The fraud detection profile allows RevCent to check a new sale for fraud before sending a payment request to a payment processor. When a new sale request is submitted, RevCent can generate a fraud score based on multiple criteria specific to the new sale. This is all done by RevCent, prior to any interaction with a payment processor.
The fraud score generated by RevCent for the new sale is then compared to the score threshold you set in the profile. If the your score threshold is greater than the RevCent fraud score generated for the new sale, RevCent can either prevent payment and cancel/void the sale (fraud detection), or continue the payment and mark the sale with an alert allowing manual review (fraud alert).
A fraud detection and a fraud alert are two fundamentally different things. A Fraud Detection is considered finite and a fraud alert is simply a notice indicating manual review is needed.

Your score threshold, which if RevCent's calculated score is greater than, the sale is marked fraud. RevCent calculates a fraud score for each sale on a 0 to 100 scale. The score is a percentage chance of the sale being fraud. The higher the score, the more likely the sale is fraud. Recommended: 75. i.e. if RevCent calculates that there is a greater than 75% chance the sale is fraud, then you want it to be marked as fraud.
If RevCent does not detect fraud, do you wish to send a secondary check to a third party integration? Only applicable if you have created and enabled a fraud detection third party integration.
